Recently, the international standard proposal put forward by China, “Secondary Lithium-Ion Batteries for Electric Vehicle Propulsion: Guidelines, Test Items and Conditions for Solid-State Battery Applications,” was successfully initiated at the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). This standard is the world’s first international standard in the field of solid-state batteries.

The mechanism
IEC has opened work on a China-led solid-state battery test proposal. It creates no binding requirement yet, but it gives Chinese test concepts an early place in the technical baseline.
