Recently, the proposal for the “Technical Specification for Data Center Microgrid Monitoring and Energy Management Systems,” submitted by China to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), was approved as a project. This standard is the world’s first IEC international standard focused on the field of data center computing-power coordination.

The mechanism
The IEC project gives Chinese-led technical choices a formal route into the specifications that data-centre operators and equipment suppliers may later use for microgrid monitoring and energy management.
